When Lights Collide, Chapter 17
Daniel knelt, in what felt like complete chaos, as wave after wave of emotion ran through him.
He had tried to fight it, tried to hold back all that he was feeling, but it was just too much.
“Just let it go, son.” He heard his Grams talking to him in his mind.
Daniel nodded, “Yes, ma’am” he replied in his thoughts.
On his knees, he let it all go. All the pain, all the anger, all the sadness that had haunted his heart.
He hadn’t realized all the strength that had been required to hold it all in, until he let it all go.
As a wave of exhaustion struck him, Daniel leaned forward, catching himself with his hands flat upon the Earth below him.
His mind raced with all the cares and worries that had previously gone unnoticed, but now were flooding his mind like a tidal pool, spinning out of control.
“Please, if there is a God, don’t let them be dead. Not because of me, not because of me, please God, let them live, they are good people, your Angels, here on Earth, and they saved me tonight, many times over. I get it now, sort of, I get that I matter, I get that I am important, even though I don’t know why, I get that for some strange reason, I am worthy of the love that these women have shown me this night, please God, let them live.”

Cara, with only one eye open, could not believe what she was seeing, nor could she believe that Daniel hadn’t noticed either.
She tried to open her other eye, tried to focus and get a better look at Daniel, but the exhaustion was simply too much. She tried to fight against it, but the exhaustion was too great.
“So tired” she thought to herself as her eyes closed and her head tipped forward.

So inner focused he was, Daniel didn’t notice the light that began to shine from within his heart. A low glow at first, but the more he prayed, the more he babbled, and the more he let go, the brighter the illumination, until his whole body glowed like a blue night light in the darkest of rooms.
With his hands still flat on the ground, he could feel the strength of his sadness pass through his arms and hands, down into the ground below him.
Daniel, in full surrender, let it all go.

Estelle felt a stirring around her, like somehow the ground was vibrating, trying to awaken her. As she tried to think, tried to focus, a wave of fatigue exploded through her.
She tried to raise her hand to rub her forehead, to try and stop the buzzing in her mind, but she found that she could not.
She tried to berate herself for allowing herself to become so weakened, but the words would not come.
She tried to straighten herself, but could not. All that she received in return for her efforts was the fact that her head had lolled to the side.
As she tried to open her eyes, she was met with a blue glow. Estelle blinked once, and then again, trying to comprehend what she was seeing, and then was certain that she was hallucinating..
“Is that Daniel? She thought to herself, “Is he glowing?” She asked herself, as she noticed that the same blue glow that was surrounding Daniel, “no,” she noted, “not surrounding him, its from him” was spreading throughout the ground around him and spreading out toward her and Cara.
Estelle tried to focus harder, tried to see and understand what was happening, but her brain just wasn’t able to keep up, her soul was tired, and finally, she succumbed to the wave of exhaustion that was intent on holding her hostage.

Daniel, still on his knees and hands, was still pouring it all out. All of the emotions that had unknowingly been stored within his heart and soul throughout his lifetime were now racing through his body, trying to find a way out of him.
All the moments from his childhood that brought him much pain yet were mixed with moments of great joy spun through his mind. It was much like watching a movie of his life, all the moments that he had experienced within his years on Earth were now running on fast forward behind his mind’s eye.
As each one made its way across his awareness, Daniel intentionally chose which emotions to keep and which ones to release. As the happy memories of each moment of his last Christmas with his Grams passed through, he could hear himself thinking “for this I am grateful” as he allowed the wave of love and joy to return to his inner being. As each moment of sadness and grief passed across his internal viewing system, he could hear himself saying “I am grateful and I let it go.”
Lost to any and all other thoughts, lost to any awareness of what was happening outside himself, Daniel did not notice the ground beneath him absorbing his tears as well as the energy of his emotions.
He did not see the blue light that he emitted, nor did he see the Earth glowing blue beneath his body that was expanding out toward the massive oak tree where the two women who had risked everything to help save him, now rested.
Each and every memory that had ever been visited upon Daniel in his lifetime were now flashing through his mind at warp speed, from somewhere within him, words were being shared and expressed, prayers were shared as blessings and the healing of his heart and soul was happening well beyond his own awareness.
As the final memory, the moment from this very evening when he was able to see his Grams one last time rolled through his mind, Daniel, with tears running down his face, heard his own final “I am grateful” leave his lips as he then fully collapsed onto the ground, exhausted and spent, he slept.
But the Earth around him was not spent, nor was it complete in its efforts of accepting and sharing the love, the emotions and the energy it had received from Daniel’s healing.
The blue light that had been emitted from within Daniel was still spreading, like water flowing down a hillside, across the span between Daniel and the Oak tree where the women rested.
When the blue light finally reached the roots of the mighty Oak, it merged with the root system and the Oak, in response, allowed the light to be carried up its root system, up its trunk, along its branches and to the tip of each leaf.
As the light reached the tips of the leaves, the entire tree glowed one final expansive glow as it then allowed the light to travel back down its branches, down its trunk , slowing to a stop just before the roots.
Then the light expanded outward to the sides, enveloping each woman who rested against her trunk, wrapping them in the now soothing glow of healing love light.
The blue light embraced each woman, wrapping itself around each one with love and healing. Simultaneously, the women were lifted slightly from where they rested and then gently returned to rest against the trunk of the Oak tree.
Then, just as it had flowed across the Earth to the tree, the blue light then flowed into the ground below the Oak, where its glow was seen only briefly as it sank into the depths of the Earth.
